Do you find yourself struggling with:
-
Maybe you spent your childhood pleasing your parents so you could feel safe, and you may now find that your relationships as an adult revolve around trying to get difficult people to treat you well and be good to you.
-
Noticing that you are dating or friends with the same types of people, and those relationships are often harmful to you? Losing yourself in relationships and taking all of the blame and responsibility if something goes wrong. Months and years go by, and the same frustrating loops and patterns repeat themselves over and over in many of your relationships.
-
Difficulty sleeping despite feeling exhausted? It’s almost impossible to relax when you feel tense most of the time. You’re angry, irritable, and lashing out at people you care about.
-
Your thoughts spiral out of control. You obsess about situations and relationships, usually blaming yourself for the behavior of others, and thinking that if you try hard enough you can fix that person and save your relationship.
-
Peri Menopause, Menopause, and Post-Menopause is REAL! Exhaustion, weight gain, not sleeping, feelings of sadness and anxiety - you don’t feel like yourself and there is nothing you can do about it.
-
Maybe a conversation, a sound, sight, or smell triggers a memory and you try to avoid situations that may lead to having that panicky frozen feeling.
-
Are you pushing your feelings away or numbing out with food/social media/relationships/alcohol/drugs/sex? You rarely share those deep feelings with others - it's too scary to be vulnerable.
-
Did you have a difficult pregnancy or birth experience or post-birth complications, and are struggling to maintain your sanity? Pretending that everything is ok, but inside, you are crumbling and barely hanging on? Afraid to get pregnant again?
Take the first step on the pathway to healing and wholeness and schedule a free 30-minute consultation call. You may call or use the form button below to contact me.
You find yourself stuck in incessant damaging cycles of thinking and behavior, and overwhelmed by peri/post menopause and relationships with partners, children and aging parents. Difficulty regulating emotions - you are angry, irritable, and lashing out. People-pleasing. Comparing. Stuffing and numbing your feelings. A lifetime of trying to get difficult people to be good to you. Feeling sad, panicky and out of control. Your identity is rooted in others and you have lost yourself. Worries and negative looping thoughts such as "I am a bad person; I am not enough; It's all my fault." You are suffering in silence and feel lonely and confused - and YOU are the person that I most want to work with.
Together, we will develop tools to safely come back into your body as you regulate your thinking and nervous system, with somatic trauma work and emotional/physical regulation skills. My style of therapy is empathetic, supportive, interactive, relational, and direct. I have experience and clinical training in EMDR, Flash/Predictive Processing, and Inner Healing Prayer, which are some of the ways your trauma and pain can be addressed. I bring 28 years of clinical experience into each session.
My Approach
If you’re ready to begin your journey of healing, we will work together to heal those memories, trauma, pain and fear from your past, creating new spaces of safety and peace within your body. Learning about your own unique needs—and how to meet those needs in healthy ways—can lead to freedom to truly live, grow, and love!
I counsel from a Christian perspective;
however, my clients do choose whether or not they want to have Christian counseling.
-
Yes, and yes! I have both in person and TeleHealth availability. I am also able to meet you at your home or a place that is convenient for you. Walking and talking counseling is sometimes very effective as well.
-
Sessions are 55 minutes.
There is also an 80-minute option, and I offer intensives, which are longer sessions and can be as long as a few hours or a few days.
Some clients find that one hour several times a month just isn’t enough, and they’d like to focus on and get through their healing work quickly. Intensives are an amazing way of accomplishing your healing in a shorter amount of time.
-
I focus on individuals, both men and women, ranging from age 21-99.
If you're looking for couples counseling, I'm happy to refer you to some excellent counselors.
-
I am not credentialed with health insurance companies.
However, by paying direct, we're not bound to insurance requirements, allowing us to work together in the ways that are most beneficial to you – longer sessions, walk-and-talk sessions, in-home visits, and intensives. Your privacy is important, and with direct pay, I am not obligated to share my session notes or diagnosis with any outside entity.
Please check with your health insurance company to see if your out-of-network benefits might help to cover some or all costs of your sessions.
I will provide monthly "superbills" upon request, which you can submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network benefits.
